Sapa is a small market town that has been a gathering spot for many local hilltribes for nearly 200 years. Hmong and Dao people, among others, still come here to conduct trade, socialize. It is a picturesque village near the Chinese border in north-east Vietnam. Sapa is one of the most enchanting of the Vietnam popular destinations. It is situated among the greenery of the high Tonkinese Alps. A visit here lets you enjoy the beauty of a village built during the French colonial days. The village was built to avoid the summers in Hanoi. The village has a serene beauty. It is a land of complete peace and delight. The village can provide a fulfilling experience even with limited amenities. Sapa is one of those rare places in Vietnam which have the ability to provide a glimpse of the tribal life as it existed a couple of centuries ago.

FIRST NIGHT: 8:00 pm, Our guide pick you up from hotel and transfer to Tran Quy Cap train station. 9:00 pm – Train departs and sleep the nights on train. Travel time approx 9 hrs.

Day 1: Sapa – Y Linh Ho – Lao Chai – Ta Van (B,L,D)

12 km of trekking, visit Y Linh ho, Lao Chai and Ta Van villages of the H’mong and the Dzay minorities. After lunch at a local family in Ta Van, we keep on hiking around the village of the Dzay & H’mong where we stay overnight in a local family for you to get to know their daily life of the local people: work, custom, embroideries, clothes… Overnight at Dzay local house.

Day 2: Ta Van – Giang Ta Chai – Su Pan – Ban Ho (B,L,D)

After pancake made by your host family, we continue to discover Giang Ta Chai village, then Su Pan villages of the red Dzao minority. After picnic lunch, we keep on hiking to Ban Ho, the village lies within a beautiful valley, home to the Tay minority people who have their traditional house on stilts and we will spend the night here.

Stay overnight:

  • Option 1: Overnight at Tay local house
  • Option 2: Going back to Sapa town and stay overnight at hotel.

Day 3: Continue exploring Sapa (B,L,D)

Option 1: Ban Ho – Nam Toong – Sapa 

Breakfast at homestay. 2km walking to a very nice waterfall discovered and named “the Lavie” by the French during the colonial time in Vietnam. Enjoy swimming then go up to the mountain to visit a small hamlet of the Red Dzao people called Nam Toong, then get back to Ban Ho before get to Sapa by Car.

Option 2: Visit Cat cat village and Sin Chai Village.

Breakfast at hotel. A walk down to the South-west of Sapa (around 4 km) to visit Cat Cat village of the Black H’mong. Relax at the food of the stunning waterfall and the vestige of a hydroelectric power station that was constructed by the French during the colonial time in Vietnam. Enjoy picnic lunch by the side of the river, and then next 6 km to Sin Chai, the village located at the foot of Fansipan Mountain, “the roof of Vietnam and Indochina”. From here you can enjoy huge stunning landscapes before climbing up on the way a jeep to return to Sapa.Take a fresh shower in the hotel before heading to Lao Cai train station for the night train back to Ha Noi.

LAST NIGHT: Take a fresh shower in the hotel before heading to Lao Cai train station for the night train back to Ha Noi. Overnight on the train back to Hanoi.
